Steal My Style: Washington DC Day Trip
Updated: Jun 6, 2018

Last weekend, my roommate and I spontaneously purchased plane tickets. One of our other roommates recently got a full-time job in Washington DC (go @Alanna!) and spur of the moment we decided to go visit her. Oddly enough, our timing could not have been more perfect as this past weekend was the last weekend for the Cherry Blossom Events and the weather was BEYOND perfect (aka 83 degrees and we missed the snow storm back home! 🙌🏼)

I have been to DC once before when I was little and the ONLY thing I wanted to see was Ford’s Theatre. However, the day we went I developed a terrible migraine and my mom had to take me home before I could see the where Abraham Lincoln got shot. That being said, this was a must see for my roomie and I. I have been waiting years to see this place!!! 😍

Even though it was almost 80 degrees in DC this past weekend, I was completely comfortable wearing jeans and a t-shirt. There was a nice breeze from the water and the majority of the time we were walking in the shade from the buildings. Whenever I’m traveling and going to new places, I like to wear something a little out of the box for me while still dressing reasonable. I choose to wear my acid wash jeans, lace white tee and baker boy hat paired with my Vans for a edgy chic look and finished the look off with a bold double buckle belt. The hat ended up being perfect because it kept the sun off my face and also hid my day two hair, ick.

Like always, all of the links to what I'm wearing will be down below. And let me know in the comments if you have ever been to Washington DC and what your favorite thing to do there is! I can honestly say I enjoyed the city a thousand times more than I thought I would and I cannot wait to go back. Till next time hauties! 🌸
